Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Qidient (“Qidient”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use our website at qidient.com and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information — your name, email address, phone number, and password (stored only as a secure hash) when you create an account.
  • Listings & activity — properties you list, inquiries you send or receive, saved searches, and wishlists.
  • Content you upload — listing photos and descriptions you choose to publish.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, device, and basic usage logs collected automatically to keep the Service secure and reliable.

2. How we use your information

  • To create and operate your account and power your dashboard.
  • To display your listings and connect you with agents, landlords, and buyers.
  • To send transactional emails you would expect from an account — email-address verification, password resets, and notifications about activity on your own account (such as a new inquiry on your listing). These are service messages, not marketing.
  • To maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, and meet legal obligations.
  • To understand usage in aggregate and improve the Service.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only:

  • With other users as needed to use the Service — for example, an inquiry you send is shared with the relevant agent or landlord, and your published listing is visible to others.
  • With service providers who process data on our behalf under contract — our cloud hosting and storage provider (Amazon Web Services) and our email delivery provider — strictly to operate the Service.
  • Where required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of users and Qidient.

4. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to secure your session. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may break sign-in.

5. Data retention & security

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations. We protect it with encryption in transit and at rest, hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your data.

6. Your rights

Consistent with the Nigeria Data Protection Act and other applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may close your account at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us through our Contact page.

7. Children

The Service is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you.
